Gidday Hawkers,

Thought I’d share my yearly report as it’s been a while since I posted one.
It’s a recurring fact that these weekend getaways always seem to start with a group text, needless to say, that’s how it started.

The plan was to head up to Rick’s cottage on Megabucks weekend, that way we’d be fishing Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
For the most part, we all had the go ahead, but there’s always that special someone that needs convincing, and approval from the wife!
Without mentioning any names, I’m happy you made it Adam!

We decided to hit Newboro on Friday, with our crazy high fall temps, bass aren’t exactly schooled up yet, regardless, everyone had an awesome day!
Headed back to the cottage, talked $hit, call our shots for Megabucks, ate, drank, and called it a night.

Come Saturday morning, we had bfast, deuces were dropped, and we were off to the races.
For the most part, myself and Adam had a great day, we cashed in and caught lots of fish.
Speaking for myself, Megabucks is a special event I look forward to every year, it’s one that my father had set a goal of fishing when diagnosed with terminal cancer, but couldn't make it as he passed prior to the event. I take in every minute of this event whether it be by shooting the crap early crack of dawn, to sharing stories over hot dogs come end of day.

My cherished moment was definitely when the Frank Dufour award went to Ed, pops would have been proud!

Now Sunday is undisclosed, location won’t be shared, details will remain confidential.
What I will share are pics of Shawn’s largie, for those who know, pls refrain from sharing its weight, for the others, lets guess the weight!

Rick and I decided to stay on Monday, and for the most part, the fishing was very hard, so we decided to take a few bass boat drive by pics.
All and all, awesome weekend amongst good friends, anglers a like with a common passion for fishing!

:D :D :D :D

To think .. Not so long ago we were posting on fish hawk, reading reports, boat build threads and gear reviews..
Then the Fish-Hawk get together happened and I was able to put a face to the many handles on here.

Fast forward to now, I have the pleasure of chatting with many of you in the angling community on a daily basis.. I've made some GREAT friends which has led to that amazing weekend... A great weekend, an experience I won't forget anytime soon.

It's worth noting prior that along with my new Personal Best, Joel (Unsure if he's on FH) Caught his Personal best that day as well!

Thanks for hosting Rick!

Honestly guys, this was the best weekend of fishing I have had in a very long time.

Watching Shawn and Joel boat flip those HUGE fish was priceless. There was nothing better that day than hearing Shawn from at least 3 miles away when he caught that fish.

Hoping to do it all again next year!

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments, seems they’re scarce on Fish-Hawk nowadays lol
Hopefully more fishing is to be done before she goes into hibernation.
