Breaking the ICE!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Breaking the ICE!

Post by Splake_Hunter »

Haven't posted in quite some time, but this brisk morning really got me thinking ice fishing. Can't wait!

Speaking of which, if anyone sees a good deal on a gas/propane/electric auger in Kingston/Ottawa, let me know. The ol Jiffy isn't aging too well. Or if you are parting with an auger, PM me, I'm likely interested.

I usually fish in the Kingston area and focus on the shallower lakes that freeze first for pannies and pike, then on to the trout lakes once they are ready. Love fishing the elusive splake.

The boat is still ready to go, with a day of fat fall smallies and hopefully Lake O after Dec 1 for the Lake Trout "opener" planned. But then, bring on the ice.

Anyone else chomping at the bit?

Just like you Splake Hunter, I still have a couple of soft water outings lined up but after that it's full on ice fishing mindset. Bring it on, I'm looking forward to it for sure.

EG3, I don't stray too far from a handful of lakes in the Kingston area. Lots of opportunities around here.
