Re: Brown Trout
Happy new year guys! Made it into Summit twice. First time I just took a drive, found the little road off the main road and decided to make the trek in with the sleigh. It was about a half hour walk in off the main road. Only fished for about an hour since there was freezing rain moving in, and I di...

Brown Trout
I am on the hunt for some brown trout, have never fished them before, I am in the Almonte area. I see on Fish-Online that there are a few lakes in the area stocked with browns. Anna, Darling long and Summit. Dad and I went for a drive a few weeks ago and found Anna, but could not pinpoint access. An...

Green Lake
Anyone ever fish Lakers in Green Lake near Calabogie? Just got back earlier. Went up this morning with my brother. We trolled our brains out for 5 hours and didn't even get a hit. Marked quite a few in 70-140 FOW. They seemed to be suspensed 50 feet or deeper. Was rather surprised considering the wa...

Re: Arnprior Head Pond
Well we didn't get anything, trolled and casted up an inlet on the east side of the river. Marked lots of fish but they just weren't in the mood I guess! Couldn't believe the depth of that river. Even the narrow inlet was 30+ feet in places. We launched by the airport, wasn't aware of the thieves! B...

Re: Goosin'!!
Goose hunting is so much fun! I am really lucky, I live on a farm and they fly over all the time, especially in the evenings. Just bought myself a new Remington SP-10 which is a semi automatic 10 gauge. They fly fairly high so I'm hoping to down a few more with this cannon. Less than a month t...

Re: Weather
It has been a very wet summer here for sure in the Ottawa valley. Saw on the weather network the other night we have got 330mm (13 inches) of rain since June 22nd.
Still haven't got all our hay cut. Usually we are done by the second week of July.

Re: Mississippi in Almonte
Been out a number of times and have done well everytime. Been catching a lot of smaller pike <2lbs on top water which is always fun, a couple really nice largemouth between 3 and 4 pounds and also a few smallies. Water level is dropping though, really got to watch it if you put in at the fairgrounds...

Arnprior Head Pond
My brother and I are going to hit the head pond in Arnprior and see if we can get a muskie or two. He's fished it and knows a few target spots, I was just wondering if anyone here has done good with muskie on that body of water. Will report back later!

Re: Round Lake
Yes I forgot to mention the Bonnechere River is very good too for bass. I basically grew up on Golden Lake so I know it and the river up to the Tramore dam like the back of my hand. But there were times especially when the walleye ban was on Golden Lake we would throw a boat in the back of the truck...

Look them up on facebook, it's a beautiful place! Right on the border of Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories. 8) Certainly know of t...

Re: Round Lake
There is very good fishing in Round Lake, caught many of monster smallies in there! Fish around shoals and weed beds that's where you'll find them. There's a big island on the east end of the lake. In and around there is good. There's also walleye and lake trout in the lake as well. I believe it's c...
