GOT THE FIDDLEHEADS ..NEED SOME GASPEREAUX OR SHAD

Growing up on the banks of the St John river in Fredericton we used to net a fish called gaspereaux to go with our fiddleheads. Of course we also ate shad. These fish are really bony but once you get to the meat a delicious feast. Does anyone know if either species are available around Ottawa ?

Looking for Lodge/Resort/Cabin for first week in August

My wife and I, and our two weiner dogs are looking for a place to stay and fish. Nothing fancy but my wife uses a cane so can't be too rocky. With-in an 8 hour drive of Ottawa would be preferable. Neither of us has stayed at a resort dedicated to fishing so aren't sure what questions to ask. Any sug...

Sorry, can't understand te objection to buying becuz it has 1994. Compared my purchase to some in my tacklebox and they appear identical. Was it the lead that put u off. This is a standard warning on lures in the states

An hour or so from Ottawa or maybe an overnighter if we can get a place that accepts small dogs. Been to Calabogie, Morris ...

Ice fishing for Disabled ?

Asked this last year but always looking for new locations. My wife wants to go ice fishing. We are willing to drive 2 hours and would consider staying overnight. She uses a cane and can't walk a long distance so it would be great if we had transportation to a heated hut. Any suggestions greatly appr...

Thanks for the tips

My wife and I tried the stone pier at Brittania. Great spot(except for those wierd looking spiders :) ) No walleye, but they were pulling in cats like crazy.
Will try the other spots asap.
Thanks, Dave

Any good pickerel fishing from shore

My wife uses a cane but that does not stop her from being a fishing fanatic. We would like to try for some pickerel within two hours of Ottawa. Can anybody suggest a location where we could fish from shore. Not after trophies, just a relaxing time beside the water :)

Thanks, Dave

Where to moor my boat ?

I'm thinking of buying a 26' Bayliner, 20 years old, in good condition. I have never owned a large boat and am looking for any advice, especially on where to keep it. Will use it mainly on week-ends and for fishing. Can anybody suggest a marina. Thank you
