Where is the best place between west end Ottawa and Carleton place to get minnows? Does baitcasters carry them?

Anyone out on the Mississipp? Talked to a few guys last weekend but nobody had been having any luck. Was wondering if the spring is better in the big lake or up at the other end?

What's the fishing like in this area? I have heard conflicting information that you can boat from elbow into sharbot lake and vice versa. Can anyone confirm?

Cottage is basically right beside the ferry I think. I don't really know the area up there wrt the river though. Is the navigation open... If I take my two small boys for a boat ride? How far is the Tim's camp and the damn from the ferry?

Live minnows are not permitted on the quebec side of the Ottawa river so be careful there but I have had lots of luck bottom bouncing with worms this year on the Ottawa Walleye would be great, bass would be good too. Have rented a cottage right near the quyon ferry on the Ontario side. Was wondering what the fishing is like around there, what is the predominant species?

A bunch of the lads are heading down to qunite on the weekend. I've heard reports that the harbour has iced up... anyone have an update on that? We were planning on shore fishing due to lack of boat.
