Lure making Tools, Components, Spoons, Spinners
Tackle has been sold. Guys, I have been in the lure making business for about 30 years, and have decided to sell my tools and components that would work very well for a fishing club or individual that would like to get into the business. I have a vice that makes any kind of spinner you can think of ...

Flashy spoons always work well for pike. Ozilles at Petrie island has some very nice ones.

Re: All purpose battery?
Remember that deep cycle batteries are meant to be used and then charged up each time. If you go away for a weekend or longer and use the battery multiple times without charging between uses you will shorten the life of the batteries. A small portable gas generator can be purchased for a couple of h...

Re: Outboard travel covers
The covers are for the head of the motor, I haven't seen anything that covers the whole engine.
Putting the engine in gear for travel is a good idea so the prop does not spin. I'm not sure it would cause a problem with a seal but can't hurt.

Re: Marine Batteries question
AGM batteries are great for those hidden away compartments and the fact that they offer no filling with water. I currently have 3 on my boat and always recharge after every use with a very good on board automatic 3 bank charging unit that makes things easy. They are group 31 style AGM's that I bough...

Re: Lowrance transducer mounting?
Don't mount the transducer on the transom directly. Place a piece of cutting board material [3"x6"] on the transom so you only have one set of holes. You can move the transducer easily if you don't get it just right the first time.

corrosion
I have had the problem before but only when my battery was going bad. When i replaced the battery the problem was gone. I had tried vaseline, dielectric grease to no avail. That was 8 years ago and no problems.

HDS-7
I also have one and am very impressed with the detail of the unit.
It is also a great advantage to run split screen-graph on one side and the depths and your route on the other when you have a good chip installed.

There are fittings available that attach to the top of oil filters the dimpled edge on top that have a fitting for a ratchet that makes the job a breeze!

The older motors were not very efficient so they would not burn all the gass that runs through them. It's nothing to worry about. Also the seal above the prop may be lower unit lube. I would check the lower unit to be sure it is full of lube and checking the screw gaskets, they may have deteriorated....

A new boat purchase with warranties is the way I have gone with my last 2 boats. My last boat that I had for 16 years only saw the dealer once. I did all the service myself. It was an early 17'legend model made by smokercraft and mercury 60 that was an excellent boat. My current boat is a 2009 Starc...

Batteries
It sounds like a new battery for the boat is in order. There are 2 rules when it comes to batteries. First, you will never be sorry buying one that seems like overkill [too high a rating]. Many people get mad after the fact because they could have for a few more dollars bought a more powerfull batte...
