Re: Bay of Quinte info
Have only got out on “South Potters Creek conservation area”. Pretty decent parking, and easy walk-out access. Can’t tell you any decent spots to spend the night, but I’m sure there are a few motels in Belleville!

Re: Shirley's Bay 2025 Ice season
It seems the potholes are already crazy in the parking lot, someone would blow a tire if trying to do a donut 😂. Agreed, parking on the “beach” is best and I usually do that when bringing my ATV. However it just becomes a problem when it gets too full up. Saturday afternoon the beach parking was com...

Re: Shirley's Bay 2025 Ice season
Just swung by a few minutes ago- barriers are still up in parking lot, but looks like a bunch of tracks out on the ice! Didn’t venture out with a spud, but will over the weekend, maybe with a sled full of gear trailing

Re: bay quinte. walleye
Ice never really gets super thick there. Father lives 25min away from Belleville so get out atleast once a year there. Best bang for your buck and ease, check out Potters Creek.

Went to check it out this afternoon. There was a permanent hut about maybe 30 feet offshore, and 2 other groups another decent ways out.

Re: Shirley's Bay 2024 Ice season
Drove by the bay Thursday. First few feet of shoreline is frozen, but still a long ways to go. Feels like a repeat start to last season so far..

Re: Foam flooring for ice camping
I used the “cheap” ones from Canadian tire. For what I wanted, they served well. I had only used about 8 squares total, just around the cots. If you can pick the thicker ones up on sale I’d say go with them, but also adds to the bulk!

Re: Ice Fishing at Silver Lake near Perth - Parking Question
Yes, there are a few areas to park close to ice access right off the highway. There’s a day park area most park at. Also can just park along the road as people also do. Just drove by 4 hours ago and had a few people out in ice!

Re: Crappie Ice Fishing?
I’ve only ever caught 1 crappie through the ice in the Ottawa area, and that’s been at Long Island in Manotick. Hope you can get some better help, and good luck!

Re: Shirley's Bay 2023 Ice season
Got out yesterday as well. Was sitting in 8.9ft with 9” of ice under us. Had non stop dink walleye action. Par for the course for what the previous years produced. Still tons of fun. Was .3km out. There was a group way way out on the left hand side as well. We were using minnows from Serge. MNR stop...

Re: Shirley's Bay 2023 Ice season
Too soon to already have the ATV loaded and outfitted for ice fishing?! Haven’t been by as I don’t think I could handle seeing open water, but I’ll pop by within the next day or two and confirm! These mild temps are killing me

Re: Shirley's Bay 2022 Ice season
Didn’t make it out to check yesterday, but went this morning. One shack is pulled, and there was someone else pulling a trailer off. Seems like lots of standing water and slush. I decided it was a no go for me haha.
