Re: Shirley's Bay 2025 Ice season
We set up our tent closer to the shore near Innis Pt, 11' of depth; caught 8 walleye and 5 burbot but most of the fish were small.

Re: Shirley's Bay 2025 Ice season
CCLad, we were in that area yesterday and passed by, what I think, your hut. Yes that pressure crack is an obstacle for sure but we found a passable place about 150 meters farther along the crack. The ridges were not high and sharp and we easily crossed it on a snowmobile with a sled. Good luck.

Re: 2024 Ontario Fishing Regulation and bait updates
I agree, more clarity on this topic in the regs would be helpful. So, if I buy minnows from a local shop in Zone 18 and then go fish the Ottawa, can I bring my leftovers back home? Should I "preserve" them on the ice before heading back into Zone 18? This is also my understanding of how it...

It's an improvement as I won't be required to disp...

SOLD - 6" auger with Clam drill adapter plate
***SOLD***
6" auger and Clam drill plate. Auger is gently used and still very sharp. Drill plate is like new condition. Use your own drill (ideally I would recommend any brushless with low gear) for light-weight electric ice auger.
I'm selling this setup because I upgraded. Asking $110.

Walleye season opening in Zone 18
We went on Saturday evening to try on Mississippi. It was a windy day but after 6 PM it started to calm down. The current on the river near the bridge (Innisville) was quite strong. We managed to catch only one keeper length sauger. On Sunday we spent evening hours on White lake. We caught a few dec...

Re: 2023 ice conditions Lanark Highlands in around Calabogie
I was on Clayton one day before (Dec 29th) the warm weather had arrived. There was 6-7" of ice (half black and half grey) on 10 FOW. I think right now it should be better than when I was there.

Re: Ice Fishing Tips & Tricks
You got it right. Thanks for describing how to attach it once the popup tent is setup. Dismantling is done in the reverse order. So if I have this right, it attaches up higher where the distance equal the guide slots. Then you slid down until it reaches the end of the lateral slots.

Re: Ice Fishing Tips & Tricks
Hello everyone! This is not my original idea but I would like to share a tip about how to make a shelf for organizing things in your popup. It's pretty simple, customizable to your specific needs, and doesn't take much space during transportation. I took a piece of cardboard to create a template fir...

Re: Bobs lake
Thanks guys. Corvus Lacus do you mean there is a direct access to Bobs from the Crow Lake Rd or launching on Crow lake off the public lunch and then going by boat to interconnection with Bobs lake? If you don't mind, any tips or advise if I'll be targeting walleye in the end of August? Should I be l...

Re: Bobs lake
I'm planning a one day trip to Bobs Lake in the end of August. I'm trying to find information about public boat launch. I see one mentioned at 460 Steele Road but seems like it has been closed by landowner? Could somebody who is familiar with the area confirm that and give me advise where else I cou...

Any ice on Eagle lake yet?
I know that on dipper lakes the ice is formed later into the season and it's most likely too early for the safe ice but I was hoping that somebody could give the current update about Eagle or Crow lake.

Re: Shirley's Bay 2022 Ice season
Hi folks.
Just a quick report on Clayton. It was a first trip this season for me. Started at noon and stayed till 5PM. The ice was 6-7" thickness and in good condition. Caught only a dozen of perch.
Planning to go to Shirley's Bay tomorrow.

Re: Is It Time Yet!!!
In the afternoon I went to Clayton to check the ice and to try fishing if it would be safe. The ice was surprisingly quite good, 6.5" thickness of smooth and solid black ice 100m from the shore near the Joe Baye trail. There were two ice huts already installed and a bunch other fishermen on ATV...
