Favorite Pike Lure

Hi all, Just wondering what your favorite lure to use for pike is. I'm heading to Temagami for a couple of weeks early summer and want to target some monster northerns that I know are there (lost one last year). I know they will strike just about anything but what I'm looking for is the go to lure, ...

Ok thanks JP but one more question (excuse my ignorance) Do you use power pro because it super strong or it doesn't stretch? I've used mono my entire life and my wife got me power pro at xmas and I want to try it. But if a leader is used does this not take away from the strength of the power pro (ie...

Do you tie the power pro directly to the snap swivel or to a leader?

I just got a new Ram with a Hemi last month and she is a pig on fuel!

I haven't towed the boat yet but I think its going to be a pretty expensive summer.
Like big-o said its always nice to have someone help out with the fuel costs.

BOQ Opening weekend

Hey all,

Heading down to Quinte for opening weekend for walleye and I'm looking to rent a cottage. I have one in mind but I just want to confirm a couple of things first before I book it.

Is the BOQ considered lake Ontario and if so does walleye open May 7th?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Wallyboss I know what you mean, I've always been a worm harness/jig guy but after listening to Sheldon I think my old tackle's appearance is about to change.
I just have to convince my better half that I really do need all thoses crankbaits.

Squig69,

I run a 90 4 stroke Merc with a trolling plate.
It trolls plenty slow enough quite often I have to speed it up from an idle just to get the action I want.

Just remember to put an approx. 3" hole in the plate to allow for proper exhaust of the motor.

phitty The outfitter should be able to supply tip ups, minnows, bucket or whatever else they require as long as they are using his/hers hut. Although a small fee may accompany this. The only questionable thing is whether they'll put them onto fish. What I have found in the past with outfitters/lodge...

I used to fish splake all the time in Owen Sound up on Georgian Bay and what always worked for us a single hook with roe bag. Preferably trout if you have it. Hook it up with a single split shot 18" up from the hook and let her down.
Hope this gives helps or gives you another option.
