Florida Fun
Greetings Fish-Hawkers, I confess I have not posted in quite some time...so what is my penance RJ & Luke  :D ? I don't have time to make a Bunk-like report, but thought I'd share a few pics from a recent trip to the Tampa area with some old high school buddies. I love the saltwater and I'l...

Re: Christine Cope Lands Monster 55" Lake St. Clair Muskie
I had to copy the photo to zoom in and study it for true appreciation. The head on this fish is intimidating and beastly! Why do you think Lake St. Clair muskies have that distinct spotting versus the greenish banding seen on most musky photos? Sincere congrats on catching and releasing this magnifi...

Looks like a fun time of year, especially when you crack the code on a predictable pattern! I have to say Grant looks really....relaxed...these days and that is fun to see. I can just hear the smack talkin' from here !
tight lines and luck with the FH site!

Re: Microfishing
Pretty cool report and concept Zippy! Here is my all-time favorite unintentional micro catch: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/redsupnorth/PA020065.jpg I used to enjoy netting small creeks and bringing home the fingerlings to raise in aquariums for a few years. My favorites were Rainbow Darter...

Re: A visit to Spectacular to NWT.....
RJ & Markus, I think the part I like the most is the decision to not get a guide and to figure things out on your own! That, to me, is the most rewarding challenge and part to fishing; unlocking the code and secrets to a new location. Fishing big and new water always seems to take a bit of time ...

RJ & Luke, I can't think of two better stewards to take over this site! With Rob's demeanor, knowledge and passion for the sport & the site and Luke's tech savvy to keep trollers, hackers and posers out of the back and side doors, you should do well. I can't wait to see what is in store for ...

Re: New Record for a 3 Day Bass Tournament - Lake Fork, Texa
Shawn, Excellent question and comment 8) ! I mostly fish Crappie with my father-in-law on this lake (and as with everything in Texas, the Crappie are huge in this lake too), but do get a chance to fish for bass on occassion. I always seem to hit it where the day before was outstanding and the ...

New Record for a 3 Day Bass Tournament - Lake Fork, Texas
I have never been an big advocate or interested in tournament fishing, but one has to tip their hat to a tourney guy who has figured out a pattern where the planets and stars have aligned to catch the biggest three-day haul ever! I'm not against tourney fishing...it just takes the fun out of it for ...

Re: Spring is Slow to Arrive in the South Too!
Jona,
I've never been on a rattlesnake roundup, nor do I plan on it, but I gather some think it is sport and a way to cull the snake population down here. I just thought you'd get a kick out of what some do south of the border !
Tight Lines,

Spring is Slow to Arrive in the South Too!
What a crazy Spring we are having! The water is finally up to around 65F, but the fish have been slow to respond and move to the shorelines and bays with the barrage of cold fronts that continue to knock the temps down. I fished Kinkaid Lake yesterday, in southern Illinois, and had a pretty decent d...

Re: Ice season and Wishful thinking
Absolutely love that first pic of the Speckled Trout, Mike! Almost looked photoshopped with that beautiful white framing around the bottom portion of the fish. Happy to see you are taking advantage of what the fishing season gives you!
tight lines,

...there is a better than 50% I'll be up there for business around the end of July. I'd love to wet a line with you and Grant again! Let's hope for a longer summer and fall to make up for the delayed spring. Although, I am jealous the best of the hard water season is yet to come  8) f...
