After buying your favorite hooks, sit down and take the time to solder the little gap on your hook eyelets. Dip them in some flux paste and hit them with some hot solder. This will prevent the braid from slipping through after you set the hook on a big fish!!

Its true Ganman, in the last 10 years the lakers and their habits in Charleston Lake seem to have changed?? Living in Athens all my life and fishing Charleston for 35 years myself, I can see a big change. Incidental catches of lakers while fishing for pike in 4-10 fow are very common. With the water...

I'm pretty sure what you have there is a fallfish. They actually, believe it or not, get much bigger than that! I've seen them up to 12 in.....They are really aggressive and if you have a few of them in with your small minnows....they'll guzzle them up!

3/4 and 1 ounce kastmaster or mr. champs. Hopkins smoothies work well also. The boys that do the best are wire liners, either steel or copper. If you fish the bottom with flutter spoons or Johnny Greens, you will catch lakers....good luck
