Re: Lund boat transom saver

I think this is one of those situations where do what you feel comfortable with. When I bought my motor support I searched for quite awhile looking at all the different opinions .. and there are lots. Many for transom savers and just as many against them. Some for the wedge of some sort and many aga...

Re: Procedure with OOS fish

This winter while on lower Rideau .. I witnessed a family catch a pretty large bass. I had the binoculars out to see what the kerfuffle was about and saw the fish. I didn't like that they lifted it out for a picture but it was a kid that caught it .. big moment. Go for it but be quick. But then they...

I have heard that Rideau Ferry Marine is pretty good. A friend has been taking his outboard there for awhile and likes the service.

Re: Lower Rideau Lake access

Hi Gord

I was out at the Yavht Club launch on Sunday. Trucks are driving out on the ice and can be seen out near Stonehouse Island.
With this bit of a cold snap I am sure more people will venturing out.

The battery in my Vexilar 8 is not holding a charge the way it did. Can anyone recommend where I can purchase a new one? I live in the Cornwall area. Thanks I replaced the battery in my vex fl-18 with a power sonic from Alexander battery. This one to be exact. (http://www.alexanderbattery.com/shop/...

Re: Lakeside Grill White Lake

That's great news about the grill being open. Sounds like something I might take advantage of. Out of curiosity, is there any public access on that side of the lake? I've only ever put in on the south end during summer... Cheers! Noggin83 like I mentioned earlier Cedar Cove is allowing public acces...

Re: Big Rideau ice report... beveridges locks

I walked the lake a couple times this weekend and noticed the amount of people on the ice increasing.
I will be out on the weekend for sure. Just been waiting for to see the village start to form so that I know ice is thick enough for me to venture out on quad.

Re: Chirp Technology

I had chirp available in my boat this year and rarely used it. I feel it is more suited to the saltwater guys that are fishing much deeper than us. The 787 you are using though is an older unit. With the newer Humminbirds, you should be able to see The jig and fish better. The 2017 Helix's are chir...

Re: registering a used boat? where and how?

Any Service Ontario location to register the trailer for towing purposes. Bill of sale is good. If you bought used ask the seller to write separate bill of sale for you for trailer and boat. If the boat has a motor greater than 10 hp you need to register the boat with Transport Canada (http://www.tc...

Re: Muskrat Lake algae bloom?

Not sure if it has cleared up but I drove by Saturday on my way to Deep River and back on Sunday and both times the launch in Cobden was full and the launch farther out of town toward Pembroke on the creek/river had several empty boat trailers.
So people are fishing just not sure if it has cleared up.
