Wolfe Island

My son is working on the south shore of Wolfe Island near Kingston and has seen many boats fishing between the island and Cape Vincent. I was wondering if it would be worth taking a run up and trying things out. Does anyone have any advice as to what might be along there. Thanks

Viking Outboard

Hi

I have a 5 Hp Viking Outboard. My Dad bought in brand new at Eatons back in the early 1960's (so I am doing this for more sentimental reasons). I need a head gasket to get it running again. Can anyone tell me where I can find one.

Thanks

What I do is add an 18 inch leader between my cannonball and release. This allows the release to move up and down more freely. If you watch your rod tip a small laker will cause the rod to bounce irratically. This way you don't end up dragging the small ones to death.

As a sidebar to cleaning your fishing tackle a good investment that I have found is a book of collectable fishing tackle. My first time through the book I found some of the tackle I had inherited is considered collectable. So I now have 15 or 20 empty comparments which I now have to fill.

I put new eyes on an old downrigger rod last winter and used clear nail polish to seal the thread. Used the rod most of the summer and thread still looks good

Nation River

Happy New Year All For those who remember Big Sim he has left the Kingston area and bought his first home just outside of Spencerville. He hopes to get the internet soon but worries about what bills will be like first. We both have been looking at the Nation River as it goes through Spencerville and...

This could become a much more common problem. From what I here from our local MNR office Premier McGinty is doing to the MNR that Mike Harris did to the MOE (and we all know where that ended)

Walleye Seminar

Just a quick thanks to Sheldon, Paul and Bennetts Tackle for the great seminar today. The points that were brought up have given me much to think about in regards to rods, electronics and techniques for walleye as well as all types of fishing in the upcoming season. Thanks again guys

question about mixed gas

With the price of gas now I would like to use the almost full 5 gallon tank left over from last November. However I am worried about water in the gas. Is it safe to put methyl hydrate in the mixed gas of a 2 stroke engine.
