Thanks very much for the info! I'm hoping with the scorching weather tomorrow we'll get some luck in and around the lilly pads for bass.
Have you ever tried locating walleye on the river? We will be on the stretch between Arnprior and Calabogie.

Madawaska - Any advice?
I'll be up at the Madawaska tomorrow near Burntown. Has anyone ever fished this part of the river that may have a bit of advice for me? What's the main species for this body of water?
I'll be taking my wife out so I want to know what to focus on so we can't get her to pull a few into the boat.

Nope, it's another shop which will remain nameless as I don't want to spread bad word about them. They are simply swamped with work and I need the motor dealt with by Friday of this week. I was told it was only the prop assembly which needed to be done (a little over $100 work I was told). I just ne...

Outboard Service
I blew the prop in my outboard aboout 3 weeks ago and the service shop (not going to mention any names) had originally promised to have the unit back to me within a week and a half. I phoned yesterday and was told that it still has not been looked at and won't be for another 3 weeks. Does anyone kno...

Fishing with Minnows/Worms - Walleye
I'm headed out to the Rideau tonight and we are going to try fishing with minnows or worms for a change to locate some walleye. Aside from the bobber technique, what are other ways to fish live bait properly as I've always used lures. Also, we will be launching at either Manotick or Kars, does anyon...

How to fish in hot weather
With the weather being so hot, what does this do to the fishing activity (makes fish more agressive, or pushes them down deep)? I might try my luck near Kars tonight and need an idea how and where to fish. Going for Pickeral, Pike, Bass, Muskie, etc... From my experiences, this kind of weather catch...

Tips needed for Jigging
Thanks to everyone who has posted advice for the Rideau, but allot of it has to do with jigging next to weed beds, which I have never really done, so I have not a clue where to start. Is it better to jig off the bottom, should I be casting out and draging it, which type of jigs should I be using (Po...

Rideau River Fishing Hot Spots
My brother and I normally fish the Rideau between Manotick and Kars. Are there any people familiar with this stretch of the river that have a few proven spots for Pickerel, Pike & Bass (in season). Either that, or can someone reccomend another part of the Rideau which consistantly produces fish?...
