Realistically speaking, we have a growing list of invasive species showing up in waters they were never in. Fisherman use live baits, and all it takes is one transfer and you can end up with a lake full of invasive species. While you and me may understand the implications of this, and while we may a...

Best bet is the Beaver River in Thornbury, very near to where you'll be. Check the regs no matter what I say, but there's also the Pretty River, the Nottawasaga about 1/2 hr away, and depending on how far you want to drive there's other spots more towards Owen Sound. Near the Beaver there's a tackle...

Hello fellow Fish-Hawkers, I show my face to take what lumps you feel you need to share with me. [cowers in fear] :) I'd like to apologize for doing something that seems underhanded or secretive, I wasn't out to just flame some people or make anyone look bad. I'm not from the same region as many of ...

I've got a bit of a different angle. I'm not new to boating, but I've always used rentals on water I know. I'm planning to buy a boat and am glad to take a course to learn the right way from the start. That said, I'm fricken sick & tired of seeing our lawmakers make, change, and fail to enforce ...

Wow, it's nearly the same price to spear fish in sanctuaries as it would be to hit a stocked pond. That makes a lot of sense...

Unbelievable.

Hi eye-tracker. I spoke with the creator of the following site, and he's more interested than anyone to find/document places suitable for people seeking easy access to fishing.

Not sure how many of you are members of the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters (OFAH), but they are opposed to this ban and are another channel to get your voice heard. Take a look at their commentaries here: http://www.ofah.org/tackleban/index.cfm No, I don't work for OFAH, but I support t...

Long ago, chasing a paper airplane that went into the bushes, I jumped in and got stung 30+ times by the hornets whose nest I crushed. No, I wasn't fishing this time. Another time I remember I wound up and made a brilliant cast of a nice heavy spinnerbait. It hit my friend square in the middle of hi...
