Thanks for the info.
Hopefully today's wind does not blow ice back in and fill the bay.
Take care.

Current conditions in Orillia

Can anyone tell me the ice/no ice conditions in Orillia? I am hoping it is clear enough this year so we can launch from the public launch at the narrows this weekend.

We have fished this event in the past. It is a good time. Built around enjoyment and good old family fun.
The prize pirch are usually small, but some good size ones can be caught.

Enjoy

We have been fishing from Port Whitby and found the fish between the 90 and 120 foot depths. Depending on the time of day. I have a boat a little smaller than yours and head out when conditions are calm, ie early mornings. The bite also seems to have moved to cut bait. Yesterday morning we boated on...

If it is any help, we usually fish about 1 mile out in 90 to 100 feet of water.
However, we are also putting in at Frenchman’s bay or Whitby Harbour
Good luck

From what I have read and know walleye do not look up for a meal. That basically means you need to put your bait directly in front of them. Walleye are shy fish and spook very easily. We have found that fishing weed lines to be very productive. We also find that at this time of year due worms seem t...

We found a lure releasing device at Canadian Tire. Its simply a large lead weight that slides down your line and smashes the lure from where it is lodged. They paint it up and make it look like a fish, but it is only a weight that slides down the line. We attach our plainer board reels to the weight...

Can anyone tell me of a free launch and parking on the south

Can anyone tell me of a free launch and parking on the southeast side of Lake Simcoe.
Somewhere around Beaverton or south of there.

We have found East Lake to be good for pike in the early morning. East lake holds some nice bass, and we have found them on the windward side of humps protruding from the bottom.

The outlet river is also a good place for bass and bowfins

If your son’s lacrosse tournament is at Iroquois arena, then there is a public launch directly across for the arena leading into Lake Ontario.
However, for bass the best places are Scugog as mentioned before and Rice Lake. Both are relatively close to Whitby.
Good luck and have fun

Depends on where in Ontario you are going.
By Lake Ontario we have had rain yesterday and this morning. The forecast is for more rain tomorrow and then clear on the weekend.

Enjoy your trip
