I agree with what BB wrote......especially the last line! You should be able to get a starter kit for between $200-$300. I would also highly recommend taking a flyfishing course offered by either of the local fly shops. This can help you get over the initial learning curve much quicker. Also, why no...

SpenceScout: They are only concerned about the lead used in jigs, weights, split shot, etc. These are the lead items that end up in the ecosystem and are sometimes consumed by birds. As you would expect, the lead poisons the birds. Lead poisoning causes neurological damage leading to death and it is...

I find it interesting that Lowell Green chose to fan the flames of this issue, yet hasn't taken up the cause of increased funding for the MNR so that it can enforce the rules already in place. Aren't these neo-con and Reform loudmouths supposed to be all about law and order? Where is his outrage abo...

Re: and I will sell you all the tungsten you want
:D I agree with you Paul. I'm just saying that it will drive up the costs and to some it may lead to a decline in the amount of fishing they do. It may also put a few companies out of business and what about the guys who make their own jigs that will not continue. The compnaies who see this as inev...

Cprince: Koi and carp are the same fish. Koi are merely carp that have been selectively bred for the colour and body charactersitic variations. Koi ( 鯉 ) is the Japanese word for carp. These critters school with the regular carp in the rivers near my home in Yokohama. It's kind of weird to see giant...

In eastern BC you can have your pick of rivers or lakes. You might want to check the links I posted in my previous message to see what info they can provide. The place I have fished is called Mt. Assiniboine Lodge. They are focussed on hiking, but they have amazing stillwater fishing for big cutthro...

So when will we see a boat and walleye gear for sale in the classified section? Congrats on your first fish on the fly! Actually catching something on the flyrod early in the game certainly makes fly fishing more attractive. With the 9-wt you ought to have a go at bass - amazing on the flyrod...
