refteck has it right. At atmospheric pressure R22 boils at -40* so it would be impossible to dump it in the river as a liquid. It would flash to vapour as soon as it hit the atmosphere. Thanks for the replies. Ya I'm just looking to upgrade the steering. I may be interested in what you have problem is I'm in the Toronto area but maybe we can work something out. how much a lookin for it. Is it a teleflex or another manufacturer. I've got an old (1976 I believe) Peterborough 14' run-about with a 76 50hp merc. It has the old clothes line steering system. Thinking about upgrading. My uncle has an old 7.5hp long shaft. He thinks its a late 60's vintage. On the upper area of the shaft their is a couple of ports. One is marked"flush". He wants to know what these ports are and what they are to be flushed with. Any Idea? Thanks Mike

I was given a 7.5hp Game Fisher outboard. Was told it needed a coil but I also see the spark plug is missing. Numbers off the Tecumseh motor are 640-18A and 9068. Anybody know where to get parts, owners manual and how to find age. Thanks for any help. Mike.
