Lefty, although I do use a swivel alot of guys will tie mainline to leader ( tip-it ) using the double surgeons knot. They claim it reduces line twist even better than the micro-swivels. Experiment a bit and you'll find out what you like . Good question, we need more float fishing ciscussions for us...

I have an older 22 foot starcraft that has a leak which requires the bilge to be run every 10 minutes or so. I powerwashed it at the end of the year and some of the silicone that is spread on the seams at the back came off. Should I strip all the silicone off and start from scratch or just patch whe...

Very nice indeed. We have no safe ice at all down this way. Crazy weather that's for sure. I'm heading out for some open water float fishing to-day on Big Creek. I'll post some pics from over the holidays for you's when my son is home to show me how to do it. I suck at computers. He's a typical teen...

Need your help guys and gals. I have an older 22 foot Starcraft that has a leak at the seam by the transom. Some of the silicone came off when I was powerwashing it. My question is what should I use to repair it. I think it was silicone that was on it before. Just a section about 4 inches long came ...

Crash, you hit it right on the money my friend. I took him out and after only 5 minutes he got smoked by a beauty. That's all he could say or talk about after that. The next day I check my mail and he wants to go again. The look on his face said it all when that fish taught him a lesson. I was impre...

A good buddy of mine and myself fished a local trib hard yesterday. We were rewarded and each of us went 2/3. The creek had great color and is on the rise. Today should be fishable in the upper stretches but I'm guessing the concessions closer to the lake will be dirty for a few days. Scenery was gr...

Sounds good Floatfishin, I'm tying lots of leaders this morning, respooling line on my pin and spincast, scraping skein in anticipation of the upcoming steel headed our way. There's one, big fish, really big fish, well it was a big fish. Yeah I know, I'm nuts about steel and the great outdoors. Look...

Hi to everyone and a happy safe holiday to you and your families. This is my first post here at fish-hawk. On the weekend I fished an erie trib for my favorite fish, steel. The scenery was great, Lady, my yellow lab always enjoys herself as I do and we were rewarded with some very nice fish. The cle...
