I had a local tech come buy and quote me nearly 1k to fix the problem. I took it over to Mike, and he fix...

water in oil
Hey Brit,
One thing to check is the gaskets on the oil fill screws. I had water in my lower leg, and thought that the seals were gone, but found out that there wasn't a gasket on the fill screw.
Hope this helps!

Yellow tape, or a sign warning people of culverts and possibly thin ice? If there is great, but if there isn't, why not? Alot of people fish there; don't you ...

Hi Fish-Hawk-er's, Been folllowing a few posts on this board latley and thought I should post my latest adventure with my Neighbour and his Dad, but first, the lead-in. 1973 Mercury 850 Thunderbolt Lower end Concerns
Hi Folks, While winterizing my new (used) motor, I noticed a fair bit of water in the lower unit. Infact, mostly water very little oil. The lower plug didn't have a gasket on it. Could this be the problem? Would there be any damage to the lower leg? I probably put 50 liters of gas through the engine...
