hi anton yes the st lawrence is great for big carp. they are also in the rideau but harder to find. there are a couple of places you can stay in cornwall but getting overun with us english carp fishermen! caigers resort at the southern point of the st lawrence (Gannanoque) is where i caught my first...

that interesting you have developed, on your own, what we call here a "hair rig" ask big bass rich - we sent him one in the post.

that would make a lot of sense, if the water is shallow.
have managed to float bread on the top of the water and have seen them take that when they are on the top.

In my opinion its difficult to fly fish for carp because they normally feed from the bottom, and only rarely take from the top - but maybe we could come up with something between us!

hi mike We will be in and out of Caigers all week, baiting up for Ssaturday, so won't be staying at caigers (although that is where we stayed last year and it is to be highly recomended - great food great people!) i have since bought a cottage in Seeleys Bay.
