I've been to Dumont several years in a row now. I have never had a record setting trip there, but I enjoy the lack of development on the lake and it is very peaceful spot. Bring a map for sure as it is so undeveloped that it is easy to get lost. No cell reception there either. I know there are some...

Charleston has SM and LM Bass, Pike and Lakers. If you are there early on in the year you have a chance of getting Lakers at shallower depths ( 30 - 60 FOW range) Come July they will be deep, It is a very deep lake so they take advantage of that to escape the heat. It becomes very hard to get them ...

I can give you some feedback on my Motorguide 55 lb Wireless unit. This is my third summer using this motor. The wireless units from Motorguide are only available in bow mount. The speed increments are great, there are over 20 speeds in fwd so it allows you to be very precise. My boat is a 16' and ...

Thank you everyone for you feedback. I have emailed Princecraft and am waiting to hear back about the gross trailer and boat weight. MrJ, This is a good example as your boat is slightly heavier. The tounge weight issue might be something specific to my setup in the sense that not only is there more...

Tow Vehicle, Tongue weight issue Santa Fe vs Escape
I would like to get some feedback and recommendations from some folks that have trailering experience. My Situation, Trailer/Boat Package Weight 1600-1700 lbs. No Gear, Fuel etc. Tongue weight of the trailer heavy for it's weight about 250 lbs, probably more like 280 with batts and trolling motor. ...

Nobody's going to take the time to unbolt the hitch , especially if you put some heavy grease on the 1/2 of thread thats sticking out 8) 8) Bolting the hitch might stop a theft who forgot his tools :) but really.. if you were stealing a boat, would you let a bolt with grease stop you? I would expec...

Tow hitch lock
I would be careful about picking up the cheapest lock out there, I have had tow hitch lock from PA that looked good but over time i noticed it was really just a cheap lock that seized and can be cut with a hacksaw or pried off in a minute or two. I would also recommend a wheel lock for parking and ...

Boat covers
Depending on the use, i would research the fabric and type of cover you want depending on your needs. The BPS ones are alright for getting the basic job done, but I went the custom route and wouldn't have it any other way. Better fabric, snap on fit so no lose areas for trailering, reinforces seams...

I love the name Black Pearl! Great looking rigs guys, and I like conversions, with a little creativity you can do amazing things, and make fishing more enjoyable. Last year I sold my 14 footer and picked up my Princecraft. http://images.orkut.com/orkut/albums3/ATgAAACvmzL2llQG2XoVdtEMekITwDpICkWeEj...

Boat Stereo
I recently installed a stereo and speakers in my princecraft. I took a route which would not be advised by all (looked at the cost of a marine radios and speakers, and decided to get a standard car deck and with the extra savings bought a watertight compartment). For keeping the unit dry and got re...

transom saver
I really think it depends a lot on how much you will be trailering your boat in any given season and the roads you have to drive on. I have a 30hp 4stroke and always use one because I tow it all over and sometimes on rough quebec bush roads. I use a thick rubber tie down cord that holds the shaft i...

Thanks
Thanks for the input guys. In the past I have used a 9.9 2 stoke on a 12 footer and have been fairly satisfied with the speed of that so if the startfish it is proportionate to my old 12 footer, then all will be good. I have thought it over and as suggested, had the dealer revise the quote and incr...
