Wise Guy eh? Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk... Sault Ste. Marie was obviously not founded because of the MNR's stocking program. But the place was a trading hub long before the MNR existed because of native gathering aswell as European gathering in the summer... And why did they gather allong the St. Mary' s River?...

i moved to Ottawa from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This town was founded because of the trade opportunities brought on by the anual salmon run. It's a part of our heritage. Just scrapping a program like this to save money would be like cutting off your left foot to lose weight! Ya it might help a lit...

Ah wood ducks... seems no matter how urban an area, they never get used to people.

Great Shots, Great colour. Looks like it was a fun day.

I've always used a silver or gold (or both)Williams spoon (1.5-2"). Take the hook off the spoon and add a 4" bit of line from where the hook was attached. then attach the hook to the line, hook on a nice worm and you're off to the races.

Have fun.

Wow you work quickly! Just kidding... That's exactly what I was thinking. Beautiful work. (Paint and carving) Do I even see the large pores along the jaw line? I will be getting in touch with you real soon. Keep up the great work. By the way... are they neutral-boyant? FromTheNorth

Amazing work! I'm sure you'll have some fun with those this season.

Not like you need suggestions from me but... I would love to see your work at a pike pattern jerk! I havn't seen a good pattern for clear water. your contrast would suit those conditions well.

For a spinning reel, I'm a Huge fan of Stren Superbraid. It is also a 20lb test with a 6lb diameter. Extreemely durable.(no fray) and incredible casting distance. Though, I've recently started to learn how to use a baitcaster and I loaded it with Stren Superbraid. I find that it is so thin and nimbl...

Muskie-flu or environmental change?

I've carefully read all of the posts about this sad event. As a newcommer to FH I don't know who anyone is. CCB seems very well informed on the subject. My problem is that I can't understand how a virus will only kill at one specific time of the year??? Aswell, Viruses work on matching up with a cer...

Purple

Have you found much success around here with a white jig head and purple tail?
North of Wawa, many people i've fished with only use white jig heads with black jigs when fishing at depth. I'm excited to try purple tails when i return.

Thanks for the advice,

Cats all evening!

I know this post is a little late... But it was such a great night. Early last week, my buddy and I decided that we couldn't wait for fishing season to start so we decided to try and figure out how people fish crappie. I'm originally a salmon/steelhead fisherman from up north, so slip bobbers seemed...
