It would be kind of neat (and not too hard to implement, I think) if the ranks went up by fishes, instead of bronze, silver etc.
What do you think...
Minnow
Baitfish
Crappie
Keeper
Lunker
Or something like that?
Or
Shiner
Perch
Bass
Pickerel
Pike
Muskie
Salmon
Shark
Invisible robot fish

Yeah, I remember catching perch off the dock. Using whatever was handy for bait. Live bait was illegal, so we were creative - bacon was pretty good.
I remember some Americans coming up and getting skunked, and I had caught 4 pickerel off the dock in the hot noon sun. They were some steamed.

This 5+ club thing and the attendant kafuffle (that's a technical term) has gotten my mind to spinning a little. I grew up here , in northern Saskatchewan (well, middle Sask, I guess), where the fish were not really pressured at all. When I was 6 or 7 years old, I hired out as a guide (for $10 a day...

Well, some of you may remember (probably not :) ) that I was headed up to Lucky Lake with my wife and parents in law (it was an anniversary gift - my wife loves to fish) to try for lake trout. Well... we left the ladies to prepare the cabin and headed out on the lake: And I caught a nice bass http:/...

Thanks for all the tips - hopefully we'll catch something. Luckily, there's a walleye lake just down the way also. And bass and pike, I think.

Howdy, Well, my father in law (FIL, for easier typing) is taking my wife and I fishing for lake trout for our aniversary :) I've never been for lake trout before, and I'm unfamiliar with the lake also - Lucky lake, off Brule lake . The lake doesn't even show up on the map, it's between the lake and ...

Keep in mind, I'm not looking for trophy fish, here :) So, we're fishing in Weller's bay (deepest point we've found is 21'), and catching walleye in the 8oz - 1lb range. 1lb is barely big enough to get a fillet off of. :( We're catching fish in about 12-15' of water, on eerie-dearie's and worms. Nev...

Hmmm... maybe I should provide a little more info. :) It's tough typing it in - you forget stuff. We Have fished the bay, and caught some silver bass, and two substandard pickerel :) We've tried launching across from trenton airbase, and fishing along that shore (about 16' of water) with no luck. We...

Thanks, but I think Deseronto might be a little too far to drive (I'll talk it over with FIL though).
We're based out of Consecon (south of Trenton, for those who don't know).

Hi, I'm new here (though I've been lurking for a while) - and I hope I'm asking this in the right place. Fishing on the Bay of Quinte (and Lake Consecon and Weller's Bay) and it's been... well... years since I was a fisherman. I grew up fishing Waterhen Lake in Saskatchewan (there are some MONSTER p...
