thanks for the help....my canoe is 16 feet....the motor is a 30 lbs thrust....what size battery should i be looking at...i wont be using to get from place to place....only to troll once i have paddled to where i want to be...

Just wondering if anyone has experience with using a trolling motor side mounted on a canoe. I have a chance to get a cheap Minn Kota that is in good condition but was wondering what pound thrust i would need for a 16 foot canoe.

any help is greatly appreciated.

i have a similar filter...done plenty of multi-day trips with no problems...it should be fine for 6 people...but 2 filters would be better about the acceptable drinking water...if the water filter you're talking about doesnt get rid of it...you'll probably get it anyway from having hands and other b...

looking to get an affordable portable fish finder for ice fishing and soft water, would like to know if people have any opinions about pros and cons of this model.

A good provincial park near North Bay is Samuel de Champlain PP. It has fairly good pike, bass and pickerel fishing. A small lake and river, but no motorized boats...great canoing if you're into that. Also, lots of good programs for kids and adults, fishing from shore and a walking bridge, nice beac...

I dont make alot of posts on here...read alot of them. These threads are the reason i have started to follow other boards more closely...they talk about fishing...spots, lures, techniques, reports...and seem to leave out the b.s. that seems to be more and more prevalent on here. i enjoy the reports ...

it depends on what you're looking for...this is how i found Lake St. Peter: pros - great sandy beach - easily accessible water - decent smallmouth fishing - close to algonquin for day trips cons - close quarters camping - small lake, lots of traffic hope this helps...take a look at the ontario parks...

Just wondering if anyone knows what the ice is like on any of the Minden area lakes. I'm in Peterborough and wouldnt mind shootin up there for a few hours of fishing this weekend. I've only ever fished on Boshkung, but if anyone know of other lakes that can be access by walking on, i'd love to know....

just wondered what people use for line when they're ice fishing?? i was given a spool of some ice fishing line that is very thick black braid, the same as what came on the tip-ups i bought. do you tie that directly to your hook or do you tie on a leader?? a bit new to this so just wondering what peo...

i dont have any advice for you as far as the heater...but just wondering what kind of portable shelter you have...im thinking about buying the eastman 4 man but i thought some input from someone who has one would be a good idea
