Yeah what a year...It sounds like a lot of you guys are from my area Almonte Carleton Place etc. What a great land we live in. I have been ice fishing for years and this is my advice( if you want to listen to it)... I ce needs to be at least 10" in my opinion to walk on it safely but it has to be "clean"..no top water or crusty ice. Next I would reccomend at least an 8" hole cause you do not want any exc...

There is a lake near Ompah that is open all year for lakers as I have a cottage on Mosque lake which happens to be stocked with lakers...I would have to say if the water temp is around 54oC which is the temp they prefer they can be anywhere on the lake at any depth...Right now they are out of season...

I would have to agree but disagree on hole size. The first question is what are you fishing for...I had a 6" auger but recently purchased a 8"...I found that the 8" allows for more control over the fish and it's size. I also found that it is no difference cutting holes with either siz...

Thanks for the advice...I did not know that they were closed yet...So are you saying you do know how to get there??? Would I be able to get some directions from you for eg. Turn at your first left etc. Please tell me the magical paths to take.
