Re: A Solo Roady North III. "The New Fly Fisher."

To say you have writing and presentation talents up the wazoo is an understatement Drew. Add to that your recognized fishing skill set, all I can say is that it’s a real pleasure perusing through one of your reports – it’s the next best thing to actually being there. Thanks for putting in the work t...

Re: Are there walleye In Poisson Blanc Reservoir?

Thanks very much for responding. A fellow I have been fishing for over 30 years recently asked me whether or not I had any interest in trying for walleye on Poisson Blanc Reservoir. Neither of us has any experience fishing there for walleye.

Are there walleye In Poisson Blanc Reservoir?

While I have fished the southern half of Poisson Blanc Reservoir for lake trout, the set of Trakmaps I have for the reservoir show the presence of walleye in the northern half of the lake. Can anyone share their experience catching walleye in Poisson Blanc Reservoir? Thanks in advance.

Re: Shallow Water Walleye

Just wondering what the walleye length limit is in the area you were fishing.

Re: Bay of quinte

It's my understanding that it is very difficult to differentiate female from male walleyes. What do you use as your indicator? Thanks in advance.

Re: life jacket pfd

My worry about the inflatables is, say for instance I flip the canoe on day one of a week long canoe trip, what is involved in resetting it, how big is the co2 can, and do the spares store in the PFD, or I may lose them to the bottom of the lake...As you can see, I am leaning towards a non inflatin...

Thanks for your report and pictures. How many dollars per pound did your Captain get for that 701 pound tuna? Thanks in advance.

Re: Recommendations for a fly-in walleye trip

If you would consider fishing Quebec, I can easily recommend Air Tamarack and Lac Hebert (http://www.tamarac.ca/walleye-fishing-trip-at-lake-hebert.php) as a first class fly in operation. Four of us landed 700 plus walleye during our 20-29 Jun 2014 trip. 7.5 hour drive from Ottawa to Clova. You can ...

Re: recommendations for a fly-in/fishing lodge

The 2014 rate for a fly-in week at Lac Hebert was $1075 per person for 4 guys (no taxes included) for the right to fish, a cabin, 16 foot Lund, 20 HP 4 stroke Mercury outboard (new every year) and all your outboard gasoline. We each paid an extra $100 to stay two more nights. Even though over weight...

Re: recommendations for a fly-in/fishing lodge

I did a fly-in to Lac Hebert with Air Tamarac (1 hour flight out of Clova, Quebec) last Jun. 4 guys boated 700 walleye over 9 days. While the biggest walleye caught were 27-28 inches, the average length was 17-21 inches. Unfortunately, not a lake trout lake. Great outfitter, great equipment and grea...

Re: Need help with new sonar unit

You were absolutely correct. I tested the unit Wed while musky fishing the Rideau. It worked as expected. Also talked with a Lowrance technician about why increasing the ping speed resulted in an increase in the movement of the screen display while in simulator mode. He explained it as part of the s...

Need help with new sonar unit

The Lowrance X-85 that I purchased in 2000 became my backup sonar unit after I bought a Lowrance HDS-7 in 2009. This past summer, my X-85 started drawing 2.5 times it's normal current (would burn through 8 D-cell batteries in 15 hours). So I opted to replace the X-85 with a new Lowrance Mark-5x Pro ...
