Congrats to you both on such a great day of catching eyes! Just wondering whether or not in any future BOQ fishing posts you could post a picture of your electronics display showing those eyes - that is if such a picture wouldn't give away too much info.

Concur completely Brian. My Lowrance X-85 endured countless rain storms since I purchased it in 2000 without any leak problems and it's still working fine.

I purchased an HDS7 in April and used it on 5 fishing trips during the season. I was very satisfied with the way the unit worked. However, during pouring rain in Sep, the head unit filled with water and quit. Its been sent back to Lowrance for a replacement head unit. Apparently not every HDS7 unit ...

JP: Thanks for trying to organize and host presentations like this again. I'd appreciate one presentation addressing only sonar interpretation. Many times this year, I've been unable to interpret the display on my colour sonar unit. The newer sonar units allow saving screen displays. A presentation ...

Just an observation. During a recent week long walleye trip (8-14 Aug) in the Abitibi-Témiscaming region of Quebec, my fishing partner and I landed 50 walleye ranging from 7 inches to 25 inches bottom bouncing for 2 hours one evening in an area that was probably 20 yards wide X 100 yards long. We e...

While I live in the Ottawa area, most of my fishing (trout and walleye) over the last 40 years has been in Quebec. The scenery is fabulous and the fishing can be very satisfying. With respect to recommending locations that satisfy your requirements (seclusion, walleye fishing and no more than an 8 h...

Glad to read that you're enjoying yourself even though there are some challenges. Not having a sled to enjoy all that pristine wilderness is truly a pity. You'll have to wait until next year. Stay well!
