I sympathize with you fully on your problem. I don't have a large outboard like you do (I have a 7.5 and a 4.5 HP), but my experience with getting motors fixed has been bad. My friend Kirk is a mechanic and he said to me that there is a 50/50 chance that one will get a motor fixed properly (when bro...

walleye fishing this weekend
Hi : I was fishing the Mississipi River near Perth last night. There was a full moon and I tried jigging with a minnow and glow jig. I also tried a slip sinker with a floating jig and a minnow attached. No luck at all. I had seen fish jumping right in front of me and I'm not sure if they were walley...

mercury outboard 7.5 Hp 1980's - expensive repair job
I have a 7.5 HP mercury outboard 2 stroke. Between my buddy and I, we've always been able to fix problems. But, this time we had some trouble fixing it. One cylinder was not firing. So, I brought it in for repair. The shop changed the switch box (it's a black box that has all the electronics) and it...

any luckfor walleye this weekend ?
I was out fishing this evening. I was trolling for walleye. I always get one or two, but I've found that the last 2 weeks has been totally dry. I found that the lunar calendar (in fisherman) has been very useful and tonight was supposed to be good, but I got hosed. I covered a lot of water (4 kilome...

electric trolling motor needed
Hi Everyone :
I have a 12 foot deep hull aluminum boat which is powered by a 7.5 HP mercury outboard. I'm looking to get an electric motor for 2 reasons :
1. to get me home in case the merc craps out
2. troll quieter to get me more walleye

vexilar
I'm looking for a vexilar and would prefer one that would work well for both ice and summer fishing(I have a 12 foot aluminum boat). What model works well and at what price ?

need power ice auger
Hi Everyone :
I'm looking to buy a power ice auger (10 inch hole). I'll have to drill through at least 3 feet of ice. It has to be lightweight and reliable(because I can't fix stuff!).

walleye problems
Hi Everyone : I'm fishing one of the walleye lakes near Perth, Ontario. In the spring, trolling with a firetiger rapala worked very well. The weeds have grown in big time in the lake since then, and, in July, trolling with a spinner with a red/yellow grub attached worked somewhat, but now the walley...

seeking 9.9 HP outboard motor
I'm looking for a reliable 9.9 HP motor. I currently have a 7.5 Merc (1983) and it weighs about 50 lbs. I load the motor into the front of the box of my F-150 and then I load my 12 foot deep hull aluminum boat directly behind it. I have wooden horses that I built which I use to load and unload the b...

walleye running ?
Hi Everyone :
I am in Perth Ontrio and I have been inspecting the Tay river for the walleye spawining run(just to observe for fun only, of course !) at various locations for the past week. I haven't seen any yet. Has anyone seen any spawning runs yet (anywhere ? ) ?

new lures/jigs for walleye
Hi Everyone :
Has anyone heard of any interesting new tackle for walleye for 2007 ?
Does anyone use a vexilar(I used one for ice fishing, but not for open water) for walleye fishing ? If so, what model and technique do you use ?
