I feel like I am 12 years old all over again and finding out that the WWF wrestling is FAKE! I always assumed the fishing took place over a few days or they went to sweet spots in remote areas to catch a great deal of large fish. The one thing that does pee pee me off is the whoring of hosts in orde...

I agree, especially in Canada where it takes a very long time for those fish to get that big. Plus the smaller ones taste better anyway. Have you eaten both?....have you eaten a 10 pound plus pike?...or a big bass?....Everyone always says the smaller ones taste better....while it's an honourable wa...

thats a good question? I feel that the limits are fare. Id like to see a slot size on more fish. I beleave that all the big ones should be returned. Why would any one want to eat a 5 or 6 lbs bass? Just my 2 cents :D I agree, especially in Canada where it takes a very long time for those fish to ge...

How Does the Gov't Calculate Daily Limits?

I have been wondering how the natural resources authorities calculate the daily limits for each species. Is it as simple as counting the number of licenses, and cross-checking that against the health of the population? If that is similar to what they do, then I happy because many people do not take ...

Baitfish Fishing Report ;)

I went to a small local lake close to Montreal and I managed to catch almost every baitfish I have ever used. This is a lake that is stocked by the city every June with rainbow trout but I guess that there are no other predatory fish there once the lake is fished out (by late summer). I caught sucke...

Good report.

I went today and fished from shore but there are no weeds, so nothing too serious and the bite was slow because of the colder weather in Montreal.

I did get a big bite from a pike or smally but 6 pound test (for perch/panfish) boke when I tried to set the hook :x

Cedar Haven Campground located right on Muskrat Lake has a couple of boats that they rent. Check them out here. http://www.cedarhavencamping.com/marina.html Looking at those rates, I am reminded again why I bought a bigger/nicer boat for this season. Rental rates every other week really start to hu...

It depends on the model of your motor but if it is a 9.9 that only differs from a 15hp by way of the carburetor then you could covert the 9.9 to a 15 easily and with less money than a whole other 15.

You might want to consider extending the wires and placing the battery in the front or middle of the boat unless you are willing to drop some money for a bigger motor.

I agree with Joey Rat. I have Lowrance/Eagle products and they are easy to use and well built. I will probably by Lowrance from now on because they make it a point to keep things similar in every product in all of the categories.

Re: FIRST ON WATER ACTION OF THE SEASON

Now a question for the more advanced bass guys...SHould these bass be in 12-16' of water at this time or should they be in bays and shallows spawning. We found it very odd to catch a bass in that water with this set-up. The bass are in pre-spawn and are in deeper water for now. If they are found in...

Yep, hopefully hitting the St. Lawrence. East of Cornwall is supposed to be open year round for pike. I hope this is the case. Hope I have something to pull the boat with soon. Still looking for a towing vehicle. Yup, pike season is open on St Francois right up to the QC border. Look for the shallo...
