I stand corrected (multiple times) :D I guess I misunderstood the "more than 6 holes" thing.

It sure was a fun fish to fight though. Thanks for the clarification

Ottawa River - Rockland

Hi Folks, Went out for about 1.5 hours this evening. I wanted to check out the back bay directly across from the Rockland launch. I could see fish stirring the water near the weed, and was fishing top water frogs to no avail. I switched to a white spinner with a red twister tail, and got a good hit ...

OK, I found the answer to my second question: http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsFish/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_165347.html "An angler may use only one line, unless otherwise stated in the regulations. Two lines may be used when angling from a boat in parts of the Great Lakes (refer to the Ex...

Requlations Questions...

Sorry if this is a hijack, but there were two points raised here that I could use some clarification: 1) The latest regs for zone 12 say that sunfish (and other panfish like bluegill, pumpkin seed, etc) are open all year and that there are no limits, but others are saying there is a limit on them......

Thanks for the invite to see your pouring operation but I am in the Soo....I assume quite a drive from where you are! :D I noticed after I posted that you are a little far to just "pop by" for a visit... Glad you're up and running. As you probably noticed, it's not that hard once you get ...

I just updated my original post. I realized I hadn't answered all the questions he asked. Yes, it is easier to buy them than make them. However, a lot of people (like me) are really into being able to produce the stuff we use. It's like gardening: That tomato you grew took hours of work (ground prep...

Yes, lead is readily available. If you know a mechanic, just ask them to save wheel weights for you. If you don't know a mechanic, go and meet one :) All the tire shops and most other garages have more of them than they know what to do with. What do you need to get started? 1) Melting pot: I started...

I had this same problem with my Evinrude 15 HP 2-Stroke. I changed the spark plugs, and used a gap 0.010 smaller than specified (0.030 instead of 0.040), and the problem went away.

you will be hard pressed to find bass in rockland after saturdays tourney. Yeah, I realize that. The three times before that the bass must have been there, but I certanly wasn't catching them :? The fish are VERY safe around me. I'm a great fisherman, but so far I'm a rather poor "catcherman&q...

What Am I Doing Wrong???

Hi Folks, So, now that I have a boat, and bass is open on the Ottawa, I have been going out looking for bass. I've never had the luxury of fishing for anything but "Whatever happens to bite..." I've been out four times, and haven't seen a bass yet. I've been targeting weeds and shorelines,...

Invitation: One spot in my boat tomorrow morning

Hi Folks, If you'd like to go out in my boat for a few hours tomorrow morning, I am going fishing in the Ottawa near Rockland (weather dependent). I'll mainly be focusing on weed lines and shore lines, hoping for bass. The only thing I ask is that if you smoke, then please hold off while we're in th...
