Re: Anyone 3D Print Fishing Stuff???
Genius! I was debating getting a 3D printer wondering if I could ever justify the price with useful prints... But fishing lures and gear never crossed my mind! OMG that's genius!

Re: Ice fishing perch or crappie with kids
Baie McLaurin on the Quebec side of the Ottawa river has it all!! It should keep you and the young one busy! Several Quebec friends of mine have told me that. Can we even fish there with an Ontario license? I know we can fish in bays on the river even on the quebec side but this one is almost isola...

Re: Ice fishing perch or crappie with kids
Thanks Zippyfx. I drove by there today to check it out. Wow there is alot of people fishing there! I also checked out Wendover which seems quite similar but with a much smaller crowd (which I prefer) Rockland area in front of the Walmart looks like a nice pan fish spot but there was no fishermen at ...

Re: Ice fishing perch or crappie with kids
Thanks Bear, That's actually one of the spots I had in mind already. Also might try the Nation which is closer to me but not sure how productive it would be for panfish, specifically perch or crappie. Sunfish ia nice for the kid but im sick of it now.. Lol. I want to eat a bit of fish at least (alth...

Ice fishing perch or crappie with kids
Hey, Im looking for some advice on where to take my 5 year old son ice fishing for the first time. I've learnt during summer fishing that quantity beats quality when fishing with a kid to keep them busy and interested. I usually take him fishing on the rideau canal and he loves it cause you catch a ...

Re: Water levels in Dow's Lake
I just drove by 2 minutes ago and the water is back although it isn't completely full just yet, but close enough. Perhaps its filling up as we speak. Definitely fishable though.

Re: Looking for a nice pan fish spot for my son's first time
IF you want to try by shore, there's a place near Bourget that is a perch spawning bed. It's a flooded area along the recreational trail and is only about 100 yards off the road. You can fish it from shore or even off the old trestle that is now the trail bridge. I have even seen people bring their...

Re: Looking for a nice pan fish spot for my son's first time
Once the water is back in Dow's Lake, take the kids around the pavilion. The boat docks may be in place, if not, go around to the west side of the building. There is a cement dock, just go past the fuel pump and you will be all set. You are off the bike path and the panfish are starving if you head...

Re: Looking for a nice pan fish spot for my son's first time
Phase 1 complete: Brought my son to Sail last night to let him pick out some 1/16oz jigs and bobbers. Smart kid, he picked out perch coloured marabou jigs and thill balsa wood floaters.... couldn't argue with that! Phase 2: Wait for soft water :s. Am I the only one checking online webcams of the riv...

Re: Looking for a nice pan fish spot for my son's first time
Taking a two year old out is a GREAT way to bring'em up!!From experience with my 3 G/kids don't expect to fish long.Lots of snacks and willingness to explore is a must! Can't count number of times we launched boat only to put it back on trailer 1/2 hr. later to go find Gym set for them to play on or...
