Lake Trout fishing with my grandson

I think I have created a monster. my grandson has recently gotten the fishing bug and I can't keep him out of the boat. Not that I would want to. He doesn't care what he catches from blue gills to musky. Grandpa likes his tout fishing so he puts up with me. Here's his best trout yet, now he wants to...

Muskrat Lake

Got to go to Pembroke early next week. Was thinking of hauling the boat up and giving Muskrat Lake a try. Haven't been there in years. Has anyone been on Muskrat recently? Any report at all would be helpful.

Thanks

Hello Salmon

Great fish. Will be heading to Port Hope and Coburg for a few days in a couple of weeks. Try to save some of those beauties for me.

Granson's First Laker July 18

After a terrible drive, with lightning and rain all around, we arrived at the lake with no great expectations. Lo and behold, the fishing gods smiled on us, and gave us a four hour window, for my grandson and I to enjoy a beautiful morning on the water. Not tons of fish, but special none the less. W...

Spiny Water Fleas Lake Ontario

Was fishing around Main Duck Island and the shoals just west of there (July 5 to July 10) for salmon and trout. Encountered the Spiny Water Flea for the first time. These little beasts absolutely ruined the fishing. I couldn’t keep the lines down for more than 10 minutes before they were coated wi...

Hey Seaweed

totally agree, I am another fan of Mike's. He went over my motor, 110 Johnson, and got it running better than I have ever seen it go before. If you need an honest, tell it like it is mechanic don't hesitate to call Mike

18 foot Starcraft equipped for Lake Ontario. Yet small enough to chase walleyes in the Ottawa River. Most comfortable boat for fishing that I have ever had. Billy Bones :D <a href="http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm19/billybucket47/?action=view&current=Starcraft2.jpg" target="_...

Kicker Steering Linkage

Have an 18 foot Starcraft with a 110 HP Johnson and an 8 HP kicker. Using the big motor as a rudder in calm water is fine, but is almost useless in rough water. What is the best way to connect the kicker to the large motor for more controlled steering at trolling speeds?

Thanks

Shakedown on Lake Ontario

Sorry no fish pics in this report, needed a net man but nobody available. Spent Thursday afternoon and Frday on Lake Ontario. First time I dropped my new boat in to give the setup a try. Thursday, not much to report. Wind from the west at 18 kph, little rough but the boat took it in stride. Took a ...
