my condolences to his family and friends, didn't know serge but he sounds like a really great guy.

and as steve said, if anything good can come from this we can all use it as a reminder to be extra careful when heading out on the water.

Policy Adviser at the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. Just switched from the Ministry of Finance which was much more exciting but was long hours and weekends during certain times of the year (yes, even gov't can work OT). Now I have more time for family and fishing.

a lot of variables to determine distance but with a heavy spoon can cast a mile (er, 75 ft?) . Baitcasters are great, esp when you get over the learning curve and can avoid over runs.

good idea mr. J. just one question...how do you deal with a good rainy day or few rainy days. I spent a week on nippissing this year and it rained 4 days straight, torrential down pours that would have filled that bucket a few times over...do you put a couple plugs in the bottom?

my preference is plano too with the plastic storage boxes. you can get a large one if you want all of your tackle in one place but you can still separate species specific tackle in each of the storage boxes in the bag. Or, get a few of the small ones and use one for each species. here is a link to o...

I think if you have a favourite spot on a small and very accessible body of water that you fish regularly then I could see not sharing all of the details...but for a lot of people who fish bigger water and a variety of places then I don't think there is much reason to hold back a lot of info. We are...

can't offer much help...have only had incidental catches while fishing for bass and pickerel. Last one we ran into was a 36" musky caught on 6lb test line on a blue fox spinner in about 4 feet of water on the rock shelf just before the gannon narrows. I do want to get out for musky some time so...

thanks KM for fixing the links, will have to figure out how to post those properly next time.

was very convenient having them right in the bay so we be close to the cottage and tuck out of the wind. Surprised that we didn't pick up any LMB, would have figured they would be around there.
