Thanks for the advice guys. For now, I'm not looking to spend alot of $$$ on this older boat. I like the ratchet strap idea. Will look into it this weekend.

Evinrude Engine - Manual Trim mod

Hi guys, I have an older boat with an Evinrude 70hp (1979) which has a manual trim. You can either put the engine all the way down or up. I am looking for advice on how I can possibly create a homemade setup to manually trim the engine half-way up. I busted 2 props already fishing in a local river a...

Hi Seabass,

I already bought my trolling motor for next season and was looking at buying a deep cycle battery soon. I didn't even consider using a power pack instead. I am interested to see the replies on this topic.

Easily 25+...No question. There have been times that I have had to grab the back of someone's pants so they did not get dragged in, in damn cold water, because one decided to run at the last minute. Anybody that has caught one with size knows that they have enough power and speed to catch you off g...

Very nice fish Seaweed.

I slowed down Musky fishing lately as I was trying to target Sturgeon in the past few weeks. I'll be pounding the waters again this weekend in hopes of catching my first late season fatty.

Hi Spinner, I sent you back a PM. Thanks for the help guys. I'm hoping that my problem is due to the fact that I use the "choke" switch often when restarting my engine thru out the day. I now heard it can cause the engine to flood. This is my 1st boat and I got lots to learn ... If my prob...

Thanks for thel advice guys. I already have 3 new spark plugs installed. I will try and pickup some carb cleaner and give that a shot. The carbs will probably be rebuilt during winter time.

Hi, I'm located in the Montreal area (quebec).

I hope there is something I can easily do to recover from such a situation when out on the water.

Need advice on 1979 Evinrude (70hp) engine

Hi guys, my boat engine let me down twice this week on the water (not very pleasant ...). I am able to stop and restart the engine many times during the day but when it won't start once, it will quickly drown with gas. I'll try using the "choke", cleaning the spark plugs ... but it will no...

This is my 1st season fishing exclusively for Muskies and I am very happy with my results considering I have zero experience. I've caught a beautiful 46" and 2 more in the mid 30". It has also been my best year for Pikes incidentally for numbers and quality (throwing those big baits paid o...

I will recommend the only two lures that have produced Muskies for me this season:

- Mepps Magnum Musky Killer (black tail, silver blade)
- Blue Fox - Super Vibrax bucktail (black tail, silver blade)

Might of guessed that I love bucktails ...
