tip on photos ?

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try harder next time. And Indeed, it is a sky clear and beautiful lake, definitely worth going back again and again. Lonnie, Is your photography tip tried ? I usually find if you keep the sun or any light source behind the subject, it usually fools the camera engine and...

Clayton lake short report

First time on the lake on Saturday , nice weather early morning, and couldn't have asked for better company. Lot of timber down the lake which made it interesting ( lot of snags ;-( ) Anyhow, we opted not to use live bait and concentrated on working all other "fake" lures. We didn't have m...

How do you rig/retrieve them for some success ?

As Out4Trout rightfully mentioned, I like the fake bait mainly for their convenience, they are there easily accessible all the time, no need to travel miles, no need to store in advance, but as Wally , I haven't had , any success with them. never a single bite, so I'm sure, I'm not doing it right. I...

you still can catch a lot of fish from your office/home in these non-clement weather, you could always fall back on one of the fishing games ( ex: flick fishing ), you catch a fish for every cast, that was my fix for the past winter ;-)

Paint for plastic lures ?

Hello Gurus, As bizarre and stupid as it may looks , I'm thinking to do some toying with plastic lures and paint. I figured out if I don't ask stupid questions, I'm not going to learn much  I'm hoping someone can point me into the right direction, about how to decently paint plastic lures and ...

No harm done, let's move on

James and Ottawalleye, I don't think there is a warranted need to apologize, no harm has been done. just different people have different needs. I can speak for myself and few other fellows fisherman, we are casual fishermen, we consider ourselves lucky if we can get out a couple of hours a weekend, ...

raise your concern

Thanks OttaWalley, I'm looking for feedback and your concern is legitimate, when I started this , I thought really that 1. For one, none of shore spots are really honey holes per se, you may get few fishes here and there, but that's it 2. In my opinion, If you are a shore fisher you are unlikely to ...

Thank you Jerry and James. I'll be adding locations as we go, I however prefer to add locations only if they are tried and tested. Google is usually the place to go if you are searching for information, but sometimes it may take hours and hours of "googling" before you get what you need, t...

Ottawa and Gatineau shore fishing guide

Hi all, whether you shore fish by choice or because you don't have a boat, you may be in the same boat as me , always wondering about nearby decent shore fishing spots, that you may want to explore this summer. This morning, someone at work mentioned Madawaska head pond area, but since he is a boate...
