I'm gonna be using which ever unit i get primarily for chest wading and for canoeing on the rideau.
I'm also getting one of the humminbird wireless castable sonar systems...pretty neat device for my purposes.

I headed out to the middle and found a new rock platform I hadn't seen before, so started the casting. I was using a 1/4oz Heddon Torpedo (natural frog colours) and it was sl...

Nailed a 2 pounder this evening on a purple plastic crayfish and 1/4oz weedless jig. Was at the west side of britannia beach on the end of the rock pier. I thought it was a bungee cord stuck to the bottom for about 5 min! There were tonnes of them tonight! Got 4 that were at least a pound and a half...

Rideau River near the queensway this evening
Got a nice 3lb largie this evening.
About 8pm ish...on a Heddon torpedo .
LOVE to catch them on the top!
There were 2 guys right under the bridge tonight....from the hooting and hollering, they were having a good night too.
I nailed a good 1/2 dozen from 1 - 1.5 lb.
Excellent 2 hrs.

Welcome aboard! What type of line did you try on your baitcaster? If it was mono try out some good braid and you'll be surprised at the difference. I was using the what the guy at lebaron suggested. A Berkley low stretch mono 8lb clear. I think i need a demo on how to use it. Been using spinning re...
