Hi Seaweed. I'll have to get a laptop one of these days. I normally rent a private cottage for the summer, or spend some time at rustic fishing lodges....so this normally means no computer, no TV, and sometimes no readily available phone (this dinosaur refuses to get a cell phone). I'll probably che...

There's some real good info on this thread. Over the years, I've heard countless people say that you could not target muskies with a conservation license, even if you released ALL your fish. I agree with Wolfe that this is an oxymoron, when it comes to responsible catch and release musky fishing, be...

What are some of the more consistent inland "laker lakes?" I know Charleston, Weslemkoon, Limerick, and Big Rideau can have some pretty good action. I might spend a little more time laker fishing this year.

Sorry guys, I should have made clear I wasn't talking about Lake Ontario, which has an abundance of trout in its massive waters. Instead I meant the smaller, inland trout lakes. Populations are definately hurting in most of these waters, many of which once had a self sustaining lake trout population...

Lake Trout Season.

I don't normally fish for lake trout, but enjoy catching them. I go up to Maine once in awhile, as it's one of the few states that can rival Ontario in natural beauty and sheer numbers of lakes. Trout and salmon (Atlantic and landlocks) are the primary targets of most anglers in Maine, but they conc...

I like a Southwest wind or just a West wind. Besides these winds being the most productive, they allow me to work my familiar\favorite spots in a drift-cast technique very easily and thoroughly. It seems more difficult to work my spots backwards, and it rarely produces well. Even so, I have landed s...

I have the same choice to make regarding my old broken trolling motor (OMC). It's over a decade old, but it's a foot control that I'm comfortable using....I don't even have to think about steering while I'm casting. If it doesn't cost too much, I think I'll get it fixed. I know I'm getting old when ...

And the winner is.................Trophy Muskie. You're my hero. Incredible catch of 4 fish over 30lbs in a just few hours of fishing...unheard of. What are your favorite spots?? :P ! I remember another great day I had many years ago (1981?) when I landed 52 largemouth bass in a day of fishing at a ...

Best Day on the Water?

I'm sure some of you guys have had some incredible days on the water. Is there one that stands out in particular? I guess my best was on Buckhorn Lake about 7 years ago when I landed 4 muskies in one outing (along with many more follows and missed fish), plus a couple of "accidental" walle...

Hi Seaweed. I agree with you about the "overall product" being a little flawed. I said the same thing in an earlier post on this subject. Some of the fishing info in the books seems to be second hand, (especially on some of the larger lakes), instead of talking from actual fishing experien...
