Hi Seaweed. Maybe we shouldn't promote this lake too much!!! (if it were a smaller body of water, I wouldn't). Any decline in recent fishing is probably limited to walleyes only (overharvest); other species currently seem to be doing fine in this lake, and there are BIG fish to be caught. I guess we...

Hi pdbanjo. Lake Nipissing is a great place to go, but it's not the easiest lake to fish for the first time. You could spend years trying to figure it out. The sheer size of the water, the endless structure, wind, and the shallow nature of the lake can make it challenging for a new angler...especial...

Matt, thanks for the kind offer. Maybe we could hook up with Seaweed for a day on the water this coming summer @ Nipissing\Trout\Nosbonsing (he goes to Nipissing almost every year too, and he also mentioned possibly getting together sometime). I just have to finalize my exact plans for the summer. K...

Hi FLOATFISHIN. Interesting post as usual. You wrote: "Don't bring your friends back to WHERE you got a trophy.. You are payin for KNOWLEDGE!"............Boy Float, I agree, that sounds like the ethical thing to do. Too bad most fishermen are opportunistic liars  Anyway, I can't figu...

Neat stories guys.....muskymatt, I've spent most of my recent summers in the N. Bay area. Great place. I want to fish Trout Lake a bit this coming summer (in addition to Nipissing and Nosbonsing of course). The water is pretty darn clear in Trout Lake, and I bet you had a great time snorkeling there...

Ever observe fish while swimming?

Last summer was HOT...I spend most of the dog days of summer at the cottage, and the only A.C. is off the dock. During these refreshing excursions, I often take a mask and check out what the "enemy" is up to underwater. Although I have yet to spot a musky, I can normally find bass and panf...

Interesting topic. I only hired a guide once in Minnesota, which is very far from my "backyard." I actually considered guiding for a living years ago, but now I know better. When fishing becomes work instead of fun, it just can't be the same. I dream of ESCAPING WORK to go fishing. Regardl...

Hi Wolfe. Kennebec Lake is a long, but very narrow lake. Even though it is a thin lake, it can get pretty windy. For the most part, the shoreline is quite straight, but you can fish the river too. The lake is fairly close to Rt. 7 , with the small town of Arden to the South, and Big Gull Lake not fa...

Hi 'weed. Neat pics. I've been wanting to fish Quinte for quite some time, but for one reason or another have not gotten there yet. I hear late October through November is great for open water angling....huge 'eyes, pike, and even the occasional big lunge (although nobody really tries for them there...

Wolfe, we need to see some more "photogenic" shots like the following:

I was originally going to supply a "great shot" of you with a lake trout, but thought better of it.....

Hi Wolfe. I actually uploaded a second "sledgehammer face" shot in the correct catagory of "pike." I see no reason to post it here though... :x

Hi Seaweed, Wall-I-Guy, and Wolfe. Thanks for the input (Seaweed, I have not seen your name around much lately, I hope all is well!) The photo of my musky above is not nearly as clear in this gallery as it is in my Kodak "Easyshare" program. While I'm far from being a "prettyboy,"...

Photo Gallery Problems

I tried uploading a few photos to the gallery, and I had some problems. The pictures came out really blurry, while the originals were clear. I downsized them by sending the large photo files to my own e-mail in a downsized format, then saved the downsized (still clear) photos to my desktop. I was th...
