Upper Rideau/Charleston Lake Sept 2014
Well, I going back to Upper Rideau. We fished last September at Charleston Lake on Bull Island near Kelsey's. We caught lots of smallies, but they were not usually over 2#, We did catch a couple of 2# largemouth and I caught a 3.5 smallie. We caught most everything on pumpkin seed or motor oil drop-...

content - a thankless job
Boboer, You do a great job, I think this is the best board for fishing I've ever used. 98.9 of everyone is polite and extremely helpful. It's a sad day when just a few bad apples spoil it for the rest of the good well intentioned users. I was a system administrator for a unix system for several year...

Upper Rideau water levels
Gang, The weather in DC has been unbearable, we received record snows in late winter and now the heat. My concern is water levels in the Rideau waterway. Our trip up is Set 18th-25th. Any idea when drawn down will begin this Fall. Also would be nice to know how fishing was this Spring and Summer on ...

Triton VT17 verses Basstracker 175 TXW
So gang, From what I've read in reviews, the Triton is a little more, but features are standards. I was heart-set on the Tracker till I started looking at others, G3, Express Silver, VT17 etc.. I really like the three seat, 46# thrust trolling motor, really wish they put a combo depth finder/GPS. Ha...

DC has lots of eagles
Yes its true Virginia, we do have lots of Bald Eagles. the Potomac River below DC is loaded with Eagles and Ospreys. We had a pair of eagles nesting on one of the bridges between VA and District. They were named George and Martha. After a year another female came in and "removed" Martha fr...

Charleston lake - Best cottages for fishing Sept 2010
Last year in September, we stayed at URR near Westport. Several of the many helpful people on this board helped with suggestions for our 1 day road trip. We ended up choosing Charleston Lake based on glowing recommendations of 100+ days of smallmoth fishing. I loved the lake, but at the time could n...

Snakeheads-Potomac
Here's the recent standing by VGIF. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/snakehead-faq.asp BTW- several anglers think there will be snakehead tournaments soon. They strike lures like a bass and eat well in skillet (so I've been told). I fish the Potomac and Occoquan 20 times a year +/-, never caught...

Lady Evelyn Lake
I've seen some promising reports on fishing for walleyes and pike in this lake. Anyone have an objective view. Internet sites are more good news info. However this discussion board is great, I've corresponded with several knowledgeable and helpful people.
