I used to use mono now only braid. For dipsey rods I use spiderwire stealth 30lb and leader off dipsey 18lb seagaur flouro leader material!

Downrigger rods I use fireline 14lb.

Never had a problem with either setup.

We built our boards with those plans and they work great. Have used the same set for 10 yrs or so. They are made out of clear pine. We use them on Erie and they run good even in 5-6 ft waves.

14/20 for me too. Whats with all the baitfish!!!!!!!

Downriggin for Lake Erie rainbows, can't get enough of it. Fillet them and cook them on a charcoal bbq
