Bullhead/mudpout
I'm going to introduce my 3 year old daughter to mudpout fishing tonight. I grew up to it but haven't done it I years. I now live in Clayton. Any good water bodies that hold a good number of these fish in the Lanark area? Just looking for thoughts. Thanks everyone.

burbot/ling......where and how?
Hey guys, I'm looking at doing something for the first time. I want to target burbot/ling. I have spent my entire life targeting trout and sometimes walleye. I thing a change from the ordinary is due here! Where should I go for these slimy fish and what techniques do you suggest? Fish-Online lists s...

KEMPTVILLE STOCKING LIST?
Does anyone know where I can get a 2016 Kemptville stocking list? Even on the Ontario Governments website, FishON-Line, the Kemptville district info isn't available.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

That's why I fish lakes that don't have boat launches. Better fishing, and very peaceful!

Brookies in Indian Creek or Indian River?
Every time I look at the Kemptville stocking list and see that it stocks the Indian creek with brookies, I wonder if that's true or not. Do they not mean the Indian river? That's probably the better water body to stock trout, isn't it?

Re: Algonquin Park Fishing
Bring a canoe, and troll. Troll lots! Lead core line, EGB spoons and a portable fish finder! The harder you work the better! Also, about the fishing pressure in the park, 90% of people that go to the park are there to just camp/canoe. Of the 10% of people that fish there, I'd say very few people kno...

Re: Minnow Trapping near Ottawa
The closer a creek is to a river that holds bass/pike/walleye, the fewer minnows there will be. Go further upstream where minnows are top of the food chain. In winter, I would cut a large hole in the ice with an axe and drop the minnow trap in the creek. Cover the hole with branches and snow to insu...

Re: Why are Splake so Finicky?
I commonly fish the same as everyone else. No luck. I was at a lake last weekend. Surprisingly there were 5 other people that made their way to the lake and fished all day. (I was there first!!!) They all got skunked too. I was talking to one of the other guys and he expressed the same thing. "...

Why are Splake so Finicky?
Every time I read information about Splake, it's always the same thing. "Splake grow fast and are easy to catch. By far the easiest trout to ice fish." Well...... I beg to differ. With my experience, they are to most stubborn fish to catch. I have tried fishing shallow to deep water, botto...

Re: Hardwater has arrived
On Sunday morning I hiked into a trout lake in zone 18 expecting to fish from shore. To my surprise there was 2" of black ice!!! So I punched a hole in the ice with my chainsaw "socket-t-wrench" I had in my backpack. Then I started fishing with my 6' rod! Within a few minutes of jiggi...

Re: trout stocking
Putting more fish in a lake will not solve the problem at all. You will end up with a lake, full of smaller fish. (on average) A lake can only support so many fish. It's called competition for food and habitat. The MNR has lots of studies talking about a lakes biomass. How many fish per hectare, a l...

Stay away from Hardwood Lake?
I know this isn't fishing related, but...fishermen travel lots and tell stories! We know all the back roads and secret fishing holes! Well, here's one for you guys to figure out for me: Since I was a teenager, people have been telling me the same thing every time I mention fishing the area of Hardwo...
