I'm new to the list but my grandfather introduced me to ice fishing for trout about 50 years ago. If there is enough ice to hold us all (depending on the date and if I can get the wife's permission ;-) ) I would like to participate. Got my gear and I can walk (no ATV or snowmobile yet). Got a Xtrail...

Great video! I think you have solved my problem of how to find replacement skirts for my Hulla Poppers! Just cut the skirts from a senko and tie them on with my fly tying kit ;-)

Booth Lake May 2008

For all you Pike Hunters! I had unexpected company over the May long weekend and was not able to get out fishing. I had not wet a line since ice out. (I was getting real jittery) so I decided I would try Booth Lake in Algonquin Park for lakers and specks. Since it was a last minute decision and all ...

Be careful driving

Early morning trips can be dangerous. Two weeks ago a friend and I had a good morning fishing lakers east of Ottawa. Not a bad morning. I decided to try the lake again last Sat. Motoring along on a bright clear morning about 6AM and out jumps a deer. No one hurt except the deer. http://www.fish-hawk...

Bayview Bait in Constance Bay and confirmed the $5/dozen.

I'm in Kanata so I'll drop out to Bayview before the weekend !

Looks like a great weekend for some hard water fishing!!!

Prairieboy- I have never been on Farren lake although I have also been looking at it as a possibility. I drove around it about two weeks ago and could not see how I could get to the area I wanted to try with out snowshoeing about a mile. There was a lot of snow!!! Without a snow machine it would be ...

Availability of dace minnows

Do any of the local (Ottawa area) bait dealers have dace minnows?
