If there is enough ice to hold us all (depending on the date and if I can get the wife's permission ;-) ) I would like to participate. Got my gear and I can walk (no ATV or snowmobile yet). Got a Xtrail...

Be careful driving
Early morning trips can be dangerous. Two weeks ago a friend and I had a good morning fishing lakers east of Ottawa. Not a bad morning. I decided to try the lake again last Sat. Motoring along on a bright clear morning about 6AM and out jumps a deer. No one hurt except the deer. http://www.fish-hawk...

Prairieboy- I have never been on Farren lake although I have also been looking at it as a possibility. I drove around it about two weeks ago and could not see how I could get to the area I wanted to try with out snowshoeing about a mile. There was a lot of snow!!! Availability of dace minnows
Do any of the local (Ottawa area) bait dealers have dace minnows?
I prefer dace to shiners for deep water fishing and I have not been able to find any this year.
