Shirley's Bay Derby??????

I know the last few years there has been a fishing derby on the Saturday of the Family Fishing Weekend, does anyone know if there is a derby this weekend.

The water is 6' deep and just a few pike that we caught.

Well that is only half the distance to the point. We are just before the channel. Not daring enough to drive my truck out to the point yet. There is no one out our way yet. I fish out of Big Green at Shirley's Bay, got the ice hut out Saturday.
1.2km off the boat launch to the left and there is 13" of ice where we set up.

It sound like your in the right area, just move around 50 feet in either direction. The fish in the area are bitting between 1-5. You should be in 7-8 feet of water.

Sorry boys about not plowing sooner, I had no problem driving out there this year so far. I have only been fishing in the afternoon. Walleye seem to be bitting between 1-5.

that was me that plowed the landing and out to my shack, fishing has been great in that area this year.

Your in to deep of water for shirley's bay, move closer to the dyke. We have been catching lots of walleye this year. Make sure if you are jigging to put a piece of minnow on it so the fish get a taste.

Was out until 11pm on Tuesday and caught 6 ling, nothing else.
Caught a walleye at 1pm, nice size.
Are you there for the fihhing derby on Sat.?
We will be there so the road going in should be nice and plowed.
