theres a camp site where you can rent a boat i thinks its called mink lake tent and tralier park, they only have i think 6.5 and 9hp boats there.

i have never fished that stretch of river , i guess ima try it out on the yak

Right now theres constuction in the almonte area , they are working around the park also in the water, it slowed the fishing down because the removed some of the fallen longs right at the park in almonte. I usually caught alot of largies around the logs. Now they are not there i dont go anymore.

Do you know wat time of year do they run?

I fished there only one time this year i only got small small mouths and walleye, and one 3lb large mouth just off my yak. I tend to see alot of people keeping small fish there. Some bass not even a lb they also keep. so sad too see that.

ic ic i camped there once and i went to jims bait shop to ask but they were closed so i just setup anyways, its a nice place to camp but i tend to see lot more garbage there, but i hate hearing the turkeys in the morning well just on that one time i camped there

I never tired holmes lake before but i do fish on scully and shinner, i keep forgetting which is which so close to each other but yeah i guess im goin to just have to guess and check?

Does anyone know if you need a permit to camp at scully or shinner lake?

yeah it was the lead that put me off, in 1994 they used lead in there fishing lures compared to now

well i went to dollarama to check out the the lures and i didnt buy any of the blue fox ones. It was marked 1994 on it and on the package it has a warning that it contains lead in it. Its a good price there but i wouldnt buy it.

I was just useing worms on a splitshot and also small flashy spinner. When i went there i ran into a couple of anglers and they caught about 9 just that day and i also seen them reel 2 of them in and they just went back to land for a quick shore lunch, they hopped back in there canoe and not even 10...
