Went for Slabs today, and watched CityIt rake in a bunch of them. Seems he's a magnet for Slabs. I caught a bunch of Sunfish, 2 large ones, and 2 largemouth by accident. We hit up a few spots and it was a good time, beautful day too but so windy.

Try Rona, in Merivale near the Canadian Tire, they cut tiles and stuff all the time there. We got some cut there a while back.

They might do it for you but I dunno.......phone and ask!

Good luck, I hope everything works out!

If you're ever going to fish the Rideau anywhere near Manotick/Kars and further up, stop at Manotick Bait. It is the best place to go and the only place. That's where I get all the stuff I need. I don't know if they have Ciscoes specifically but they have minnows. Great service and no overcharging, ...

It's ridiculous! They are trying to build a Minto subdivision in Manotick called Mahogany Harbor or something, after the Mahogany Bay in Manotick. I hate these subdivisions, they are swallowing up my town, slowly. These things are destroying our waterways!!! They dump into the Rideau! There are tons...

I think the felt boot ban is a good idea if you are fishing pristine trout streams or lakes. These lakes are largely isolated and having felt boots does keep nasty pathogens and diseases in the felt. If you are fishing a river like the Ottawa or Rideau, I don't really think it matters if you wear fe...

Nice man, good to see you had a good time there.

You're right they were all ready to explode! You probably caught some fatties lol.

I didn't catch any Sunfish but I caught 1 small/medium Crappie when it was dark, but didn't get to take a photo.

Take Care,

Perching @ Rideau River with pics!

I decided today would be a nice day to go Perching, I had wanted to go for Crappie but I couldn't get a drive to the spot I was told about by the owner of Manotick Bait. So I headed to a set of locks on the Rideau. The perch fishing was great, I caught 1 tiny fall fish too, but mostly nice eating si...

Nice, I went perching today it was great. It's good to be out after a long cold winter eh? I've heard silver lake doesn't have that many lake trout, at least thats what my father has said all of my life. But maybe I'm wrong. The best lakes for lake trout are the obvious ones. Is the season open for ...

Thanks for this! I really enjoyed the pictures, I could imagine myself at those creeks fishing for specks walking up and down the stream trying all the spots on the way! Looks very trouty! I imagine in summer it will be just beautiful at those streams and lakes. Can't wait to see the reports come in...

The water is extremely fast at this time of year. The Rideau is moving so quickly, right now, so I assume the Ottawa is RAGING! It could be very difficult to fish there since it's not calm at all, but I know nothing about Catfish so I could be wrong. I've found fishing is extremely hard at this time...

Yah definitely from British Columbia! Fraser River has some monsters like 20 ft long :P We should protect these fiercely! They are amazing fish! The true giants of Canadian waters. The Sturgeon we have here are diff. When I was in the Senneterre area, on Lac Parent, just north by maybe 20 mins, we w...
