After going out some 30 times with the new Simms G4 Guide Pro boots so far this year, I must say that I am really impressed. The boots are really comfortable to wear (I honestly forget I'm wearing them!), have outstanding ankle support (one of the major weak points of my previous boots) and an amazi...

Dang Tim, Sorry to hear about your gear losses- had it been the Helis/iPhone dilemna, not sure which you would have chosen to save.... Going up next weekend - possibly with a scuba friend...will see if I can get him to go for a little dive for you- will you be at the cottage or do you want me to dro...

More time in boots...

After wading again on Sunday on the Mississippi, I can say that these new boots are great! The Vibram sole is grippy, even on the moss-covered rocks. Great ankle support and surprisingly light-weight. They are kind of 'weird' in a way- the entire inside lining of the boot is neoprene, resulting in m...

Another added benefit of the boots- they are extremely comfortable to wear while sititng in my new kayak (Mad River Canoe Synergy 14)! My feet didn't slip off the foot rests, and the padded ankle support didn't tire out my feet the 3+ hours I spent on the water. As an aside- it was bleeming COLD on ...

My pleasure- happy to be of service, anytime.

I was a wee bit 'concerned' about not having a felt boot, but going out this past Sunday in fairly high and fast water completely removed that fear. Absolutely sure-footed without issues, and ankle support to spare. Yeah!!!!

Jacques and I were going to hit the water tonight with the kayaks, but the wind gusting to 20kts just didn't make it appealing to either one of us., Good to have you back in town- now I actually have to find time to go out fishing with you!

Tight lines,

Had the boots out on the Mississippi river this afternoon (in Carleton Place- water was high and fast, but quite manageable) crazy amounts of ankle support, very smooth and comfortable 'ride' for the 2 hours we were out. The Vibram sole was super grippy and I felt very confident moving from one area...

Gott'em!

Yes, the boots came in. They're not small (size 14's!), but they are insanely comfortable! Silly amounts of ankle support and cushioning and I guess I'll find out how good the Vibram rubber "cleated" sole is when I get out in the water (how about Friday afternoon?). I'll grab a pic or 3 of...

re: wading boots...

Tim, I ordered the Simms G4 Guide boots with the Vibram sole from Greg ( I hear we keep missing each other at the store...have to work on our scheduling a little!) at FP&F. They are 'in transit' as of Thursday, April 23...Greg guesstimates that they should arrive next week. Woohoo! New waders, n...

wading boots

Hi all, As the snow finally melts away and temps soar, I (like everyone else, I'm certain) am looking forward to the coming season. I've sorted out my wader woes (see my waders post elsewhere in the forum for all the details) and I've now tackled the wading boot upgrade. As I will be lucky enough to...

Tim,

Grats on the boat! That'll give us more than a few options for the summer (yes, I'm inviting myself along).

Might I suggest the bimini top for MY walking height? :)...

Cheers ,
