HT Enterprises Polar Extreme Tip up
I just picked one of these up at Canadian Tire for $20.00. Just wondering if anyone with any prior experience with this product has any advice to share? i.e. Which fishing line, leaders, weights, hooks, etc... It looks like it will work well. The only thing I foresee problems with is setting the ten...

Enough or not enough Ice?...Is it just a guessing game?
I'm new to ice fishing and would like to know what signs to look for as an indication that it's safe enough to go out. Also, when is it safe enough to have a small (4x7) ice shack out?
Thanks,

Does anyone have any experience fishing with this rig. I am going to be trying it out in a weedy area tonight with my new Quantum baitcaster. Bye the way, I'm a rookie with this reel. Troubling times ahead. I know.

Great lake for smallies Bob. I fish there a lot. I'd work the shoals at about 15-25 feet for water. I know the die hard fisherman would be upset with me for the suggestion but live minnows work best there for both bass and pike. You may pick up the occasional laker as well at that depth this year. I...

Drop Shotn Tubes for Smallies?
I am planning on trying a different technique this long weekend for Smallies in 25-35 feet of water. I have never used Tube Jigs for Small Mouth or the Drop Shotn technique. Any pointers at all would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking 4' Tubes but no sure on colour or brand. Thanks in advance, Fi...

Hey there, I caught a few good size Crappie a few weeks back on the Rideau which I kept and ate. There were amazingly mild. Many people feel that Crappie are secod only to Pickerel for eating. I think they are great and well worth eating. If you found a hole stay on it because they will most likely ...

Charleston Lake
Hey Geoff, I do a lot of fishing at Charleston Lake. It may a bit of a drive for you but well worth the trip. Beautiful Small Mouth and Largies if you can find them. I go there a lot. If you are up for it sometime, give me a call and I'll come out with my boat and show you a few of my favorite spots...
