I attend the Carp show every year, and, for my buck, this year's show had the best bang. More emphasis on angling and hunting than boat sales (unlike some of the Ottawa shows). I was in Musky heaven :D - best lure selection ever seen in these parts (my wallet's much lighter today), and that 33"...

Calabogie Lake - Bob Izumi Real Fishing Show

I know very well the spot where Bob and Jim were fishing - at the inlet by the dam - down about 30-40 feet - I've caught many walleye there, even a 10 lb pike once on a 6" sucker - kind of strange seeing that come up from 38'. A buddy of mine has a 10 pound walleye, caught right there at night ...

Finding the 'eyes in Calabogie can be tough. With the dam in constant use, the water in the lake changes a couple of times a day - second only to Lake Placid in North America I am told. Size limit is 50 cm. I wish I had a nickel for every 'eye I caught that measured between 45 and 49 cm. Same for Bo...
