We used to catch carp on bread soaked in anis oil. Just another thing to try... :)

Silver Lake used to be a fairly good spot for winter lakers, not sure how it is now. I fished small minnows on the bottom and white tubes all the way to the hole. In late winter they can take your jig just a few feet under the ice.

For ice fishing I used to tie white Wooley Buggers on size 2 - 4 jig heads. Works very well for pike and lakers. For perch one can use pretty much anything that sinks to the bottom.
